![]() The wall of refrigerators and freezers is a highlight showing off just how detailed the designer went with this one. This step sets the stage and really shows you just how big this set is gonna be. Snake is all new minifigure, while Chief Wiggum has simply a unique deco depicting he probably should have used a napkin with that donut.īag(s) 2 – Contents – Front end store footprint, checkout counter, fridge/freezer wall and contents The half eaten donut sticker on the dash gave me a chuckle. The doors and trunk all open, and the roof can be removed for ease of access. The detail of the vehicle is exceptional and it does look very much like it’s on-screen counterpart. The 911 stickers gave me my first sticker issue…they are just too small. There wasn’t much to this step, but the car is very well done (better than Homer’s Car was) and has a lot of interesting building techniques. The details they add are incredible and leaving them off this set…to me at least…would be a crime.īag 1 – Contents: Police Car, Chief Wiggum, Snake I have no doubt that a lot of love went into the creation of these stickers and it shows. They have a plethora of inside jokes, and products from the show. The good news is that the stickers are very well done. I’m convinced properly applying the stickers with precision cost me at least an hour of my total build time. Bring your tweezers to this build, a few of these stickers are so small it’s almost a joke. The stickers cover a total of 2, count em’! 2 sheets and come in paper-backed as well as clear sheets. The instructions are contained within 1 very thick 255 page book. The bags go 1-8 with some numbers covering multiple bags. Shipping weight was 14 pounds? Really? Regardless of the weight this box is packed with bags. Without further ado….let’s get right to it. I’ve been building and photographing this set since it hit my doorstep. The set went on sale for VIPS April 15th, official release date is May 1st. Matching the $199.99 price tag of last years set, we get 2179 pcs, and 6 figures. While last year we got the Simpsons house as a LEGO exclusive, this years brings us this beauty… The Kwik E Mart. The show has a rich cast of characters and locations to explore, and seemed a good fit for some cool sets. ![]() I was however quite excited about the idea of a plastic Springfield. Like most people I wondered why LEGO would dive into a TV series based theme, when the show itself had been on what seems like forever. Initially when the Simpsons announcement was made last year, it was met with both fanfare and skepticism. Sit back and enjoy the ride, as we travel to Springfield to build the LEGO Exclusive Simpsons Kwik E Mart! This review is going to be a little different from my normal ones… It is a full in-depth look at the set, from sealed box to finished model. The one stop shop for all your overpriced household goods…
